iTalk Recorder Premium App Reviews

ive just purchased the app but i couldnt use it. it crashes at startup, all i see is the main screen for a second before it crashes. im running os 4.1 on 3gs. thx

I have purchased and tested (almost) all the audio recorders and iTalk Recorder Premium with iTalk Sync is the best to date. Everything works as expected. No bugs that I have found so far - almost every other audio recorder for the iPhone have some sort of annoying bug. iTalk just works, transfers files quicker than others. If you are looking for the "best" audio recorder for your iPhone, iTalk is the best I have used so far. I am stingy with my five star rating(s), if I could I would gve this a 4.75 rating.

I agree, after trying almost all recorders also, this one is top. Straight forward recording and sync flawlessely. Dont hesitate, its a good choice.

It records sounds in a room farly decently but you can not use it to record phone calls. Given the price I paid I am very disapponted.

For 5 times the cost of other apps, this has much less to offer. Other apps show a red text on the home page of my iphone, such as 2 missed calls, 2 voice recordings not heard etc, this offers no such reminder. There are no options in settings like other apps at 99 cents vs a 5 times greater cost. Other apps offer options after you touch stop recording...such as start over, scrap it, play it back or save...not this one. There is no options on the home page to navigate from one place to another such as going directly to one folder vs another. Most operations take several steps compared to other apps with one or 2 steps. I thought for much more money I would get all of the best of the basics, some new cool things and a more attractive design. Very disappointed.

I like this great application for two reasons. Its simple and it downloads the files quickly to my computer...the two most important things I was looking for, thank you!

It works as promised. Simple and fun. Easy interface. What more can you ask? Thank for providing a non-advert version, that is my preference. I do have a request for the free"iTalk Sync" application on the desktop, please add features: 1. Put the files in an iTalk playlist in iTunes. 2. Add all files to iTunes.

I love this app plus external mic on my iPod touch 2nd gen. But the iPod is presently limited to mono recording (lame) and sometimes I cant seem to sync. It works, with some persistance. ITunes sync would be divine!

I tried Voxie and iDicto (both are nice little apps) but I love the simplicity of iTalk - I started with the free app and decided to go for the $5 premium version (although I really didnt even notice the ads in the free version - they really ARE unobtrusive!). This does exactly what it says it does, and very well - really easy to transfer files to my computer with iTalksync (Im on a mac so I cant vouch for how it works on a PC). I plan on using this while Im lecturing, so I can remember & re-use those little "jewels" that come out of my mouth on rare occasions :) so I really needed something simple with a BIG BUTTON . Nice work guys!

Records high quality sounds. Would be nice if you could record phone calls. Overall Im happy with this app...

Works as described. I used to use the $49 plug in version. The quality of this software version is compatible.

Theres a lot to like about this software, but in two longer recording sessions of a meeting I had, there was a two-minute dead spot in each track. And before you ask, I had my iPhone on airplane mode, had no active alarms, and had plenty of battery life left. And now I have two sessions that are not nearly as useful as they should have been.

even with the premium version there is not indicator of recording (the bar) and there is no feature to append of rewrite on the recorded file. I was tricked into buying this useless app. Why would someone want this when one can use the voice memo recorder built in the iphone. I am hating myself buying this thing

Just what you need, simple and useful! With the PC tools, you will be able to convert the audio file and make it ... Standard for every one ;)

The latest update that adds Dropbox compatibility instantly crashes upon opening on my iPhone 4 (iOS 4.0).

A very easy to use app which produces excellent quality recordings. Previously, my only complaint was that recordings could not be transferred from the iPhone through iTunes, but with version 4.1 iTunes sync is now an option. Alternatively, Griffin provides a free wifi sync app, but that doesnt work for me as my wifi network is 5 GHz (which the iPhone cant connect to).

My life revolves around audio and the need to document Everything from meetings to music. I am excited for every update. It has amazing record qualities. One fault is when you synch it does not retain the date u recorded info and only the date you synched. Major overlook so you need to write that out manually in your description

@ r.khan: Your comments are unnecessary negative. If you need re-record why not record again. If you need replace specific parents recording this wont it, you are right. But it is not supposed to do. If you need that go for AudioMemos app which costs $10 with all addons including drop box support and editing of recordings. For folks like me who need simple spinster background recording and dropbox support this app works great. One thing I would wish it has is also support for compressed audio or add support for recording "low quality audio" to keep file size small in case I need to email it.

Update: Please add more features! Editing options such as inserting a clip would come very handy. It would be nice to be able to bookmark a particular spot. Scrolling through "dead air" is very frustrating! Im able to record lectures and Ive had no problems quickly transferring my long recordings to my laptop. The quality of the sound is fantastic and I LOVE that big red button! Thanks to developers for doing such a great job. Please keep it up!
